Come celebrate the 4th of July on Catalina Island with Avalon's annual parade and fire works show.

From Sea to Shining Sea: Celebrating Catalina Island’s Maritime History

Come dress yourself, dress your cart, or play the part!!
From steam ships to glass bottom boats, paddle boards and the modern vessels bringing you to the island, come celebrate Maritime History for Catalina Island’s 2016 4th of July!!!

Schedule of Events:

Sunday July 3, 2016

  • 2:00 PM - USC Marching Band performance on Wrigley Stage

Monday July 4, 2016:

  • 11 AM till 12 noon - Judging of the vehicles on lower Descanso Street: Most Patriotic, Most Humorous, Most Creative, and Best of Theme
  • 12:30 PM Parade Line-up at the Casino
  • 1 PM Parade starts
    • Once again the USC Marching Band will be joining us! 
    • Along with Grand Marshal Doug Bombard and his wife Audrey, the parade will also feature the local VFW Post, Airshow, Tibetan Monks, the Avalon Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department, local service clubs and youth groups, and the infamous Clydesdale Horses.
  • 4 PM Dinghy Parade hosted by the Catalina Island Yacht Club, call 310-510-0022 for more information
  • 6:15 PM Doors will open to the public for the annual Casino Ballroom dinner and show.
    • $59 per person will get you dinner, a USC Band Performance, and a spectacular view of the firework show at 9 PM.  You can also find tickets at
  • 9 PM Fireworks display over Avalon Bay

This years firework show will be held on a barge at the mouth of the harbor, making the visibility unbelievable -  
from past the mole all the way down to Whites Landing!!
